How to run old consoles games on our Android phone

+

The smartphone is smart for a good reason and you can do with him almost everything that runs in your mind, nor is pointless to tell now how many things such a gadget can or wonder what doesn’t.

Yet we use our phone also to play many games that have greatly advanced in chapter of graphics as well as the gameplay, but before these games, we used to play many on consoles such as PSP, Gameboy, Nintendo 64 and at this moment the phone has managed to bury these consoles. Certainly in the past the games didn’t excel at graphics being very pixelated, but we have to admit that most of them had a special story and at the time being would be a real pleasure to replay them.

How these consoles are in fact “dead” today, the games can still run through an emulator. Seeking a little bit on the internet, I have managed to find an emulator good enough to support many old consoles and it is pretty easy to use, the only downside to say is that we must find our own games on the internet and save them on our phone where the emulator will run them automatically.

So, if you want a particular game, you will have to look its files on the internet. I have actually found a site to download games for Sega Genesis console and I had no problems so far.

How do we play? First of all, we will have to download the app RetroBoxTv.

We can run it directly, it has already a preset list that contains 36 games, but in addition we can add others and I am going to explain below how.

The first time you run the application, you will need to register on Google Play using your account – pretty easy so far, right? In your home screen, you will find a gallery of thumbnails with pre-installed games and will appear also the games that you have downloaded.

To install games, you will have to download the game you want and copy the files to your phone in the retrobox folder and here you will find other folders – you will have to put the game files in the folder that corresponds to the console on which the game was taken. The files of the game can be both uncompressed or archived as a zip archive.

After you have placed the files in the appropriate folder, open the app and it will automatically detect them and display them on the main screen. Now just choose the game from the miniatures games and obviously press play.

You will need to install one application for each type of console – it automatically downloads the first time you play a console game that and then you will have to install it manually. It is not a heavy and difficult operation and it is actually worthy if you want to try something else.
